a graphic that says: an update from Dr. Jake Long Superintendent

Bomber Community,

It's hard to believe we are wrapping up the first quarter.

This week we had two positive cases of COVID-19 in the district that resulted in seven probable close contacts being identified.

Last week I received an email from an ACHI representative stating, “ACHI will likely suspend our dashboard reporting of school district, zip code and community level cases in the coming weeks.” As many of you know, this was the basis for our tiered mask resolution. For this reason, I am going to discontinue the usage of this resolution. I will continue to monitor other data sources. I appreciate everyone's efforts and support to make this first nine weeks of school extremely productive.

Homecoming is next week. I am looking forward to Bomber Homecoming in full force next week with week full of spirit days, parade on Wednesday (at 5:30 beginning at Redeemer Lutheran and running through downtown to Guy Berry), MHEF Night of Honors Thursday evening, the presentation of the homecoming court and football game on Friday, and the Athletic Hall of Honor event on Saturday.

I wanted to share a resource with you. Our EAST program has created a video informing students and families about the counseling resources available in our buildings and across the district. I am incredibly grateful to the students who created this resource.

It looks to be a wonderful October evening. Please head out to Bomber Stadium as we cheer on the Bombers and honor our military and first responders this evening.

GO BOMBERS!

Jake
