First Community Bank’s Bus Driver of the Month for September: Mr. Gary Lawler!

Mr. Roberts, our MHPS Transportation Supervisor, recently received a wonderful call from a parent who wanted to recognize Gary for going above and beyond for one of his students.

It’s always special to hear when our staff make a difference, and we’re proud to recognize Gary for the care and dedication he shows the students he serves each day.

Congratulations, Gary, and thank you for helping keep our Bombers safe on the road!

The talented art teachers of Mountain Home Public Schools are stepping out from behind the classroom easel and sharing some of their own work! Their personal artwork is on display in the Dunbar Lobby throughout August and September.

We love getting the chance to showcase the creativity of the teachers who inspire our students to create every day! 🎨💙

Our annual Back-to-School Convocation at Dunbar Auditorium was the perfect way to kick off a brand new school year with district staff! 💙💛

From celebrating innovation through Mountain Home Education Foundation classroom grants to getting a first look at this year's staff shirts from Arvest Bank, the morning was filled with excitement, encouragement, and plenty of Bomber pride.

A huge thank you to Mountain Home PTO for treating our staff to giveaways from Restore by King Dermatology, The Karaoke Barn, and The Pilates Studio, and for partnering with NEXT, Powered by NAEC, to provide delicious donuts and coffee from 870 Coffee Co.

Congratulations to David and Julie Hirsh, who were awarded a shopping spree courtesy of Butler Furniture!

We were inspired by keynote speaker Eli Cranor, then wrapped up the morning with an unforgettable round of Double Dare MHPS, proving once again that no one has more fun than Bomber staff!

Events like this wouldn't be possible without the support of our incredible community partners and volunteers. Thank you to Mountain Home Education Foundation, Arvest Bank, Butler Furniture, Mountain Home PTO, NEXT, Powered by NAEC, 870 Coffee Co., Spectrum Connections of Arkansas, our Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education, and the many students and staff who helped make the day a success—including Bomber Cheer, Bomber Dance, NJROTC, Bomber Band, Bomber Choir, Bomber Theatre, and the Bomber Media Collective.

Here's to an incredible 2026-2027 school year. Go Bombers! 💙✈️

A note from your nurse about Open House:
2 months ago, MHPS Communications Dept
We’re excited to welcome everyone back! If you’re attending Open House, please stop by and see your school nurse to: • Drop off daily or emergency medications (EpiPens, inhalers, seizure medications, etc.) • Complete any required medication forms • Share important medical information • Turn in updated immunization records or exemption documentation If you can’t make Open House, please call your child’s school and ask to speak with the nurse to arrange another time before school starts. A special request: Please avoid bringing medications or paperwork on the morning of the first day of school if possible. It’s one of our busiest times, and it’s difficult to safely process medications while students are arriving. Calling ahead to arrange a time will help with your wait time to speak with the nurse and it also helps ensure your child is ready for a safe and successful first day. We look forward to partnering with you for a healthy, safe, and wonderful school year!

Stop by and connect with members of your MHPS Board of Education on Open House night (August 6th)!

Meet Leo!

Leo is a 17-month-old Springer Spaniel and is a new member of the Mountain Home Public Schools team! Leo has spent his summer mornings running tracks, and his afternoons training to locate hidden narcotics.

He is trained to identify the source of five different narcotics, and his commands are given in Czech!

You'll likely spot Leo around the district this year as he works alongside his handler, SRO Recktenwald, to help keep our schools safe.

Welcome to the Bomber family, Leo! 💙💛
